Phenotype Description |
These mutants are characterized by bi-directional circling behavior and body tremor. Occasionally they might pull head and shoulders together and move briskly backwards, while moving their head and shoulders from side to side. The onset of this phenotype is at approximately 5 weeks of age (average 4.7+/- 2.2 weeks; n=89); a colony can be maintained through regular breeding, although some females might have difficulties maintaining their pups.

Pathology Report |
Standard pathology workup on two mutants (31 or 172 days of age) revealed no abnormalities. Whole ear exam of the older mutant showed no abnormalities, although otitis was noted in serial sections of the ears of the younger mutant.

Comments |
Please note: While this mutation is available, it has not yet been chromosomally mapped - an important part of determining whether it is allelic with a previously characterized mutation. |
