Phenotype Description |
The mutants show body tremor, with intermittent muscle spasms visible across the area of the lower back and hind limbs, and slight trunk swaying; hind limbs are lifted high during walking. This phenotype becomes visible at approximately 4 weeks of age (average 3.7+/-1.3 weeks of age; n=55); mutants breed and a colony can be maintained through normal breeding. A complementation test with Grid2ho-15J (JR#005344; homozygous x heterozygous mating) resulted in 7 affected mice in a total of 16 progeny and therefore demonstrates that nmf334 represents an allele of Grid2.
